Friendship today
I think we need friends more than ever. In this age of social media, isolation has become the norm. Mental well-being is at stake, and what we need to understand the most is that nobody would ever need a psychiatrist if only we could stick with each other and accept our friends being vulnerably honest.
Essentially, you don’t need a therapist; you just need your best friend, a cup of coffee, and a long, uninterrupted one-way conversation where the other listens to you with an open heart and utmost vulnerability.
A poem by Ralph Waldo Emerson
Oh, how I love the friendly glow
Of friendship's purest ray;
It beams like sunshine in the heart,
And drives all gloom away.
No earthly treasure can compare
With friendship's sacred tie;
It lifts the soul to higher planes,
And makes the spirit fly.
So let us cherish every friend,
With love both pure and true;
For in this life, no greater gift
Can bless us as they do.
One quote from me
“There’s only one kind of relationship which is unattached with your religious background and that is friendship.”
